CD Companies is a full-service Architecture and Engineering firm, headquartered in St. Louis, MO, with current regional offices in New Jersey, Portland OR, Tampa, FL, South Carolina and Springfield MO, with projects ranging across many industry sectors including retail, hospitality, healthcare, childcare, assisted living, restaurant and industrial. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized self-starter to serve in a Project Management capacity, leading site and project teams. This position includes the opportunity to develop a local team and lead a small regional office as the need for additional regional staff grows.
The successful candidate should have a background in Engineering or Architecture, be self-motivated, with the ability to manage projects as a satellite office, with support from our St. Louis based headquarters. Candidates should either be licensed, or actively pursuing licensure (within 1 year), and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Located in the Kansas City Area, with the ability to work remotely/from home
- Willing to grow a team, and to lead a small regional office
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architecture
- Licensed or actively working to achieve professional licensure (within 1-year)
- A minimum of 6+ years of industry experience
- Ability to work on multiple projects and effectively balance workload
- Ability to travel periodically, generally 1 to 2 days at a time, and
- Ability to travel quarterly (minimum) to the St. Louis Headquarters
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning: Defining the project scope, creating a detailed plan, and scheduling and allocating both internal and external resources in collaboration with needed disciplines.
- Monitoring: Tracking progress and ensuring the project meets all requirements.
- Problem solving: Analyzing issues and determining solutions.
- Managing: Overseeing the project, including the budget, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction
- Leading: Leading a team and providing guidance on how to complete tasks efficiently through strong verbal and written communications
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Develop proposals for the project scope of work.
- Procuring and contracting with external consultants when needed.
- Oversee civil engineering design to ensure appropriate project design needs for utilities, roadways, and other infrastructure systems.
- Interpret geotechnical investigative reports to determine appropriate project design needs for the site and building.
- Research and author site and building feasibility studies.
- Manage entitlement processes and approvals.
- Lead the design team through all phases of design concluding with construction specifications and documents for the site and building.
- Ensure that design reviews occur at the designated stages of the projects.
- Submit project deliverables to the jurisdictions requiring approval and follow up until permit is issued.
- Coordinate the bid package with the Client and Project Team.
- Construction phase services including direct communications with the contractor, owner and project team.
- Responsible for communication with Client leadership.
- Assist with project invoicing
